July Baby!

So, here's the good news that's happened to us lately, I am expecting baby #2 in July, the 12th specifically. Today is my 5 week point and I have been feeling really great! I haven't had any sickness, except the other night when I ate Subway...it didn't settle too well. We were shocked with the news, but really, really excited for this new addition to our little family. We were going to wait until my 8 week mark, but decided we couldn't wait any longer! Can't wait to see in a couple of months what we're having! Andy is way excited for it and told us, "I want to have a big sister." Of course we've tried to explain to him that he's the older brother and can't possibly have an older sister, but that's not how it's going to go for him.

Fondant Fun

I got a bit creative tonight and decided to make a cake and cover it in fondant. This is the first time I've ever tried to do something like this and let me tell you, it was one of the hardest things I've ever done! My goodness! Kneading the fondant was really hard after I mixed all of the ingredients and then once it was done, I had to add the coloring! Man! Those people on Ace of Cakes make it look SO easy! This isn't too bad for my first try, except for the large turd-like stem coming out of the top and the ever so thick vines! I plan on practicing this until Andy's birthday where I want to make him an extra awesome cake! I wonder what my next one will be? hmmm, I think there's a birthday coming up soon in this house!

Our New Place

This is our new place! There's still some stuff I'm working on and not all of the rooms are done, so I didn't take all of the pics, so when I'm done, I'll get more pics up. Obviously, we have more work to do on them, but this is what it looks like so far.

These are the new pumpkins and mums Andy and I picked up today.

Part of the sitting room, I didn't put a pic of the family
room and this is only part of the sitting room.

Andy's toy room.

The dining room. with our piano. I didn't put another view
of this room, sorry the table is cluttered right now.

And, of course the kitchen.

For Your Information

In case you were wondering where I found this material, you can get it through vendors that sell Michael Miller fabrics or on Etsy. I also found it on Sew Mama Sew! as well.

Curtains

I think this is the fabric that I am going to use for the kitchen. I will make a box pleat curtain with the red being the outside fabric and the blue being the fabric inside of the box pleat. I will trim it with a brown, wide, silk ribbon. It will have the look of a box pleat skirt. I hope it all turns out. I have teal cabinets in the new house and the canisters that I just bought over the summer are teal, but both are two different gradients of the color, so the teal fabric should help blend.

Amazing Offer!

So, we just had the BEST offer on the house, which is also an AMAZING offer! We are awaiting approval from the mortgage company, so we are going to be fasting and praying on Sunday and are asking all family and friends once again help us with this. The Lord sure works in mysterious ways!!!! Thanks!

Word UP!

So, we have been dealing with a lot of words this week. Let me explain. Andy and I are starting to learn sign language so we can talk to his cousin Laila out who communicates through sign language. We are way excited to be able to do this and to communicate with her! Andy is starting to remember part of the alphabet and right now I'm waiting on a book and flash cards we got from Amazon so we both can start learning more! He is very focused on learning these signs, last night we worked for over a half an hour just on the alphabet alone and I can't wait to see how he reacts to other signs for words. I just hope my mush brain can retain all of these signs. I think what I might do when we move into our next place is put up stickies of each of the signs for different things like table, water/drink, and so on. Hey, maybe while I'm at it, I'll make the stickies with Spanish too! We are looking forward to learning this with our family and sharing this experience with them.

The written words came from Elder Blake Hamilton this week! I got a letter from him, not just a postcard! He sent Andy a letter too along with ours. He says that he is doing well with the language and is ready to get going! I am impressed with his testimony and what he is learning. He also reminded me that I have 2 years to get myself in shape for the mini the Spring after he gets home. I am going to have to seriously work hard at that! I have been working on getting my diet in order and have started using cinnamon for a natural supplement to help with the sugar processing in my body. So far, it's been working really well. Any suggestions on how to start getting started on training? I think it would be good to just start walking first! A little at a time and step by step is all it's going to take!

Starting to Settle

We actually found a place to rent! It's not in town, but in a small town outside of our small town. The house is a cute little...cottage, not really sure what style? It is way cute and once we move in and get settled, we'll take a ton of pics. It has a fenced in yard, garage, and three bedrooms. The upstairs is a bedroom and loft area. Jer and I will take the bedroom and Andy will have the loft area to sleep in. He will get a downstairs toy room that will be shared by our office. Andy loved it today when we went to go see it! He actually cried a little that we have to leave and kept saying, "I wanna live here! Can we come back after Nana and Grandpa's house?" So, to answer Andy's question, "Yes, we will be living here!" The neighborhood is really quiet and we are closer to both of our parents houses. We are so excited to actually find a HOUSE and not a duplex! We are so happy about this! We are going to be moving by the end of the month because it's so cold in our house, we'll have to get out before we have to turn the actual heat on. Oh, the best part is that the downstairs is pretty open, so Andy can run and run in circles around the house and not get in our way! Yay! Things are starting to look up finally! Now, just to get rid of the house and the other apartment and we'll be good to go!
