We went to the Elwood fireworks tonight with my side of the family, I forgot to take pictures last night at the Swindell's, but it's a good thing because Rhys needed me through the whole thing over there! He screamed bloody murder through last night's, but when we came to Elwood, he didn't even get bothered by it. I don't know if he was past the shock of it all or was just too tired to care, but it was nice to be able to just watch. I took just a couple of snapshots and then just enjoyed myself. We sat in the back of the Cruiser and just had a good time.
We went back to Dundee afterwards and lit some fireworks of our own. It was a lot of fun, haven't done that for a couple of years because last year I was in the hospital with Rhys, so it was nice to be part of it all.
We got home around midnight and when we pulled in the the dumpster across the field from us was on fire, so I got to watch the firefighters put it out. I even had time to submit the pics to the paper, I hope they use them! I realized tonight that I really miss doing my journalism stuff, I had the adrenaline pumping and was so excited I practically ran back to the apartment to get them uploaded! Look at that red truck, look how close it is! I just hope there wasn't any damage to it. They got the fire put out fairly quickly. I'm just glad it wasn't an actual building! It was scary when we pulled in and saw all of the smoke coming up and just over the hill we saw a little bit of flames and then realized it was just a dumpster! Whew!
